My pup has always struggled during hot summer days. He used to wander the house looking for cool tile, but now he goes straight to his Cloudpaw mat.

Why vets recommend this?

Supports Healthy Temperature Regulation

Dogs naturally have a harder time cooling themselves than humans. A cooling blanket provides a comfortable surface that helps regulate body temperature during warm weather, after walks, or following playtime.

Helps Reduce Heat Stress

Overheating can leave pets panting, restless, and uncomfortable. Providing a cool place to lie down may help them recover more comfortably and encourage healthy rest throughout the day.

Promotes Better Rest & Recovery

Quality sleep is essential for your pet’s overall well-being. The breathable cooling fabric creates a refreshing sleep environment that helps your dog relax and settle more comfortably.

How to choose the size?

Choose the size that gives your pet enough room to stretch out, curl up, and relax in complete comfort. Measure your dog from nose to tail while lying down, then use the guide below to find the best fit.

Small (S) – 24 × 20 in (62 × 52 cm)
Ideal for dogs up to 15 lbs, including breeds like Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians, and Maltese.

Medium (M) – 28 × 22 in (70 × 55 cm)
Perfect for dogs up to 30 lbs, such as French Bulldogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Shih Tzus, Pugs, and Mini Schnauzers.

Large (L) – 39 × 28 in (100 × 70 cm)
Designed for dogs up to 60 lbs, including Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, Border Collies, Bulldogs, and Whippets.

Extra Large (XL) – 59 × 39 in (150 × 100 cm)
Best for dogs 60 lbs and above, such as Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Dobermans.

💙 Tip: If your dog is between sizes, still growing, or simply loves extra room to stretch out, we recommend choosing the larger size for the most comfortable fit.

Your Dog Has Two Ways to Cool Down. Neither of Them Is Working

Humans sweat. Dogs mostly don't — a few glands in their paw pads, and that's it.

So they pant, and they go looking for a cold surface. The bathroom tile. The floor in front of the fridge. That's the pacing, the shifting, the lying down and getting straight back up.

They're not being difficult. They're looking for somewhere cooler, and there isn't one.

The ThermaCool™ Mat is somewhere cooler.

Built for Dogs Who Actually Use It

Cools on contact

Ice-silk fibers pull heat off your dog the second they lie down. Nothing to activate.

Nothing to chew open

No gel pouch. No water bladder. Just fabric, all the way through.

Wash it, don't wipe it

The cover unzips and goes in the machine. Gel mats can only be wiped down - and they get gross.

Roll it and go

Thin, light, foldable. It lives in the crate, the trunk, the beach bag, the hotel room.

FINALLY SLEEPS THROUGH HOT NIGHTS

"I bought this because my golden retriever would wake up panting almost every night once summer started. The first evening I put it down he stretched out on it and didn’t move for hours. Now it’s the first place he goes after our evening walk. It’s such a relief seeing him actually comfortable instead of constantly trying to find a cool spot on the floor."

WORTH EVERY PENNY FOR MY FRENCHIE

"If you own a French Bulldog, you know how stressful hot weather can be. Ours overheats ridiculously fast, even indoors sometimes. I was skeptical this would actually help, but it honestly surprised me. He relaxes on it almost immediately instead of pacing around looking uncomfortable. It’s become part of our daily routine."

NO MORE CHASING COLD TILES

"Our lab used to spend all day moving between the bathroom tiles and kitchen floor trying to stay cool. Now he barely leaves this mat. I love that there’s no gel inside and I don’t have to refrigerate it or plug anything in. Just lay it down and it works."

MY CAT STOLE IT

"I originally bought one for our dog, but somehow our cat claimed it within the first day. She sleeps on it every afternoon, and our dog waits until she gets up. We ended up ordering two more so everyone could have their own. Didn’t expect that!"

Why Dogs Love Cooling Mats?

Your dog can't sweat. When the house gets warm, all they can do is pant — and lie on whatever floor feels coolest. The ThermaCool™ Mat gives them somewhere better.

A woven ice-silk surface pulls body heat away on contact, a breathable core keeps air moving underneath, and a non-slip backing keeps it exactly where you put it. Unroll it and walk away. That's the whole setup.

No gel to chew open. No water to fill. Nothing to plug in.

CloudPaw ThermaCool™ vs other brands

Most of the mats you'll find are the same unbranded product with a different logo printed on the corner: thin fabric, no cushion, no backing, fraying at the edges by the second summer. They're cheap because there's almost nothing in them.

    Perfect After Walks
We take our husky on long morning walks, and he’d always come home panting for what felt like forever. Now he heads straight for this blanket afterwards and settles down much faster. It seems to help him cool off comfortably, and I love that it’s machine washable because he brings half the yard back with him.

    Camping Essential
We took this on our RV trip through Arizona and it ended up being one of the best things we packed. Even with the AC running, our border collie would get warm after playing outside. Two or three minutes on the mat and he was calm again instead of panting heavily. It folds up easily and barely takes any room.

Helped My Senior Dog So Much
My 12-year-old Labrador struggles much more with the heat these days. I noticed within a couple of days that he wasn’t getting up every few minutes trying to find a cooler place to lie down. He just stays on the mat looking completely relaxed. I wish I’d bought one years ago.

    Survived a Chewer
We’ve gone through two gel cooling mats because our German Shepherd somehow managed to puncture both of them. This one has held up surprisingly well. No leaks, no mess, and it’s much softer too. He actually prefers lying on this over his expensive orthopedic bed.

Didn’t Think It Would Make a Difference
I’ll admit I thought this was one of those products Instagram made me buy. Turns out my dog disagreed. He chose it over his regular bed on the very first day and now sleeps there every afternoon. It stays noticeably cooler than everything else in the room.

    Made Summer Less Stressful
Every summer I worried anytime we left the house because our bulldog hates the heat. Obviously this isn’t magic, but it gives me peace of mind knowing he has a cool place to lie down while we’re gone. He uses it every single day, and I can tell he’s much more comfortable than before.

Frequently asked questions

What size should I get for my dog?

Match your dog's weight to the size chart: S up to 15 lbs, M for 15–35 lbs, L for 35–70 lbs, XL for 70 lbs and up. If your dog is between two sizes, size up. Dogs cool down best when they can stretch out flat — chest, belly and armpits all touching the surface. A mat they have to curl up on only cools half of them. When in doubt, simply size up.

How does the cooling fabric work?

The top layer is a tightly woven ice-silk fabric with high thermal conductivity. It pulls heat out of your dog's body on contact and moves it away, while the breathable core and mesh backing let that heat escape instead of building up underneath. It feels cold the moment they lie down because it's taking warmth away — not because anything inside is cold.

How cold does it actually get?

It isn't refrigerated, and we won't pretend otherwise. It sits below room temperature and feels distinctly cool to the touch — noticeably cooler than your floor. Think "cold tile," not "ice pack."

Does my dog need to be trained to use it?

Usually not — but some dogs need a day. Put it where they already like to lie down rather than somewhere new, drop a treat or a favorite toy in the middle, and let them investigate. For the first introduction, ten minutes in the fridge makes the connection obvious. Most dogs sort it out from there. If yours never does, our 30-day guarantee covers you.

Is it safe if my dog chews or licks it?

There's no gel, no liquid, and no chemical coating — it's fabric, cushion and mesh, top to bottom. That's the main reason we don't use gel: a chewed-open gel mat means spilled gel, shredded lining and, often, a vet visit. That said, no mat is a chew toy. If your dog destroys soft things for sport, supervise the first few uses.

Does it work for cats?

Yes. The small size suits most cats. Whether your cat consents to using it is a separate negotiation. PS! Usually they love it.

What makes it different from other cooling mats?

No gel — nothing to puncture, leak or swallow. A cushioned core instead of a bare sheet, so it's actually comfortable to sleep on. A non-slip backing so it stays where you put it. A removable cover that machine washes. And four real sizes, up to 150 × 100 cm. Most mats you'll find online are the same unbranded sheet with a different logo in the corner.

What if my dog just won't use it?

Email us within 30 days and we'll refund you in full. Keep the mat or pass it to a friend with a hotter dog.
